Grafenwoehr PX

Address: Bldg 700
Phone: 09641 9363151
Hours: Mon through Sat: 1000-2000 Sun: 1000-1800

The size of this px is what I consider medium-large. If you have ever been to Fort Carson or Fort Leavenworth they are the same size as this PX.

Shopping  Carts:
In order to use the shopping cart you will need a quarter. Simple slide the quarter into the slot on the basket and it will release. When done shopping, return your cart, slide the chain back into the cart and it will push your quarter back out to you.

Just about everywhere you go in Germany, including on post, shopping carts will have these little coin devices. All the baskets are lined up and connected to each other. To use a cart you simply insert the required coin. It is stated clearly on the top. This one is from the PX and calls for a quarter. You simply push it into the slot and it releases it from the other carts.  Now you are free to shop. when you are ready to return your cart take it back where it belongs and re-insert the plug that was removed when you put your coin in. (see photo below) It really is quite easy.

This is the device that comes out when you put your quarter in. When you return your cart you simply slide it back into the back of the coin holder (pictured above) and it pushes your coin back out for you.

Mens:
It has a nice selection of mens dress shoes and and some nice suits.  There is a nice selection of Levi's.

Women:
Looks like a regular selection just like we had in our other posts.  They have some Coach bags,
Vera Bradley, Doonie and Bourke along with Michael Kors which seems to be what they have the most of.  The cosmetics section is a bit more limited as they do not have any Lancome at this post.

Children/Kids:
A pretty fair selection. It seems about the same to me, but to be honest I don't shop for that age any longer.

Electronics:
They seem to have a nice selection with good prices. One thing different here is the PX buys and sells used games.  They all come with a 7-day warranty.

Small Appliances:
They have both 110v and 220v on most small appliances. I was able to find a 220v crock pot for less than $50 which will be great in the hotel and once we get into our house.  I will update when I find out more.  So far all the lamps they sell are 110v.

Adapters/Transformers:
They sell a wide range of adapters and transformers. For more information on this see my post "Demystifying Transformers/Converters USA to Europe."

Furniture:
For furniture you need to go to the PXtra in Vilseck.  That is just about all that the PXtra has is home furnishings. It is located at Bldg 2203. The hours are similar to the PX 1000-1800 Mon - Sat, and 1100-1800 on Sundays as well as US/German Holidays.  DSN: 476-2700, CIV: 09662-41-1810
